problem: The data in the following table shows the outcomes of guilty and not-gulity pleas in 1055 criminal court cases.
Sent to prison:
Guilty plea: 399
Not-gulity plea: 59
Not sent to prison:
Guilty plea: 567
Not-gulity plea: 29
A. What is the probability that a randomly selected defendant either pled guilty or was not sent to prison? (round to three decimal places as needed.)
