A bag contains 8 green marbles and 40 yellow marbles. If a representative sample contains 3 green marbles, then how many yellow marbles would you expect it to contain? Explain.
Because the ratio of green marbles to yellow marbles is in the population, the expected
number of yellow marbles is times the number of green marbles in the representative sample.
There should be yellow marbles.
