A grid shows the locations of 3 cities, R, S, and T and a road that connects R and S. Builders are planning a straight highway connecting T to the midpoint of RS. The midpoint of RS is (-5,2). T also has a point (7,-3). If each unit on the grid represents 1 mile, what will be the length of the planned highway, in miles? My main question is is the length of the planned highway simply the distance formula? Which makes it 13? OR do I have to do something weird like multiply by the slope? 13 x 3.2= 41.6
