Word problem issues. problem: there is some sunken treasure and blackbeard wants it, yet jack coostoe has sent out two ships (one is a decoy) to get the treasure first. the only information provided as to the location of the treasure is that it's 2.18 degrees (angle of descent) from the port to the treasure. the point of the problem, with information about the path each of the two ships takes, is to find which problem has an angle of 2.18 degrees descent yet has a depth of 1 km or less (diving). **i realize which is the actual ship since i solved the problem, but i have to do a write-up and i'm not sure whether to include part b.** goldrush: left port on a due east heading for 15 km then turned toward a bearing of n 35 degrees e for 27 km. the goldrush dropped anchor there, but sent a mini submarine in the same direction as a line going from port through the goldrush. the sub descended at a 48 degree angle for 2 km. a) how far from port was the goldrush when they dropped anchor? b) how far was it from the shore to the final location of the sub? (is this necessary in the write-up? ) c) what was the angle of descent from the shore to the final location of the sub? (it was 2.18 degrees, making it the real ship after the treasure) if the point of a story math problem is to find an angle of descent regarding a non-right triangle, then is it necessary to find the length of x if the triangle had been a right triangle? The decibel level of sound is 50 db greater on a busy street than in a quiet room where the intensity of sound is watt/m2. the level of sound in the quiet room is db, and the intensity of sound in the busy street is watt/m2. use the formula , where is the sound level in decibels, i is the intensity of sound, and is the smallest sound intensity that can be heard by the human ear (roughly equal to watts/m2).

The weight of full–grown tomatoes at a farm is modeled by a normal distribution with a standard deviation of 18.4 grams. the 95 percent confidence interval for the mean weight of the tomatoes is calculated using a sample of 100 tomatoes. what is the margin of error (half the width of the confidence interval)?
