What is the definition of the word mean as in math terms?

The word mean is to find the average
For example , "Find the mean of 3 , 7 and 2 ?"
ou world add them up then divide by three because there are 3 numbers

Example: 
5, 10, 20, 30 - They all add up to 65
There are 4 numbers so you divide 65 by 4. The answer is 16.25.
