12x=90
Divide 12 on both sides

(12∗x/5)-18=0
#2. 18=18/1=18∗5/5
combine them 
12x-(18∗5)/5=12x-90/5
#3. Pull out like factors 
   12x - 90  =   6 • (2x - 15)
6 • (2x - 15) /5= 0 
6•(2x-15)/5 • 5 = 0 • 5 
The equation now takes the shape    6  •  (2x-15)  = 0
#4.  Solve  :    2x-15 = 0 

 Add  15  to both of the sides of the equation 
                      2x = 15 
Divide both sides of the equation by 2
                     x = 15/2 = 7.500
