Keep in mind:  the area of a rectangle is equal to the product of its length and width.  In this case the area is 288 square inches, and this equals the length (2x+10) times the width (3x).  In other words, (2x+10)(3x)=288 square inches.

Next, move that "288 square inches) to the left side and rearrange all of your terms (there should be three terms) into the form ax^2 + bx + c = 0.

Your next task is to solve this quadratic equation for x.  You could use the quadratic formula, factoring or graphing to find x.
