In this unit, you worked with geometric proofs. a proof is a logical sequence of justified conclusions that lead from a hypothesis to a final conclusion. in your opinion, why are mathematical proofs important?

Scientists make hypothesis in order to study a concept, when he's not able to prove it experimentally.
Mathematical proofs are so important 'cause it gives precision and accuracy in our experimental data. In that way, we can assure that our data is correct

They are important for several reasons.
First of all, they help us make sure that equations/theorems are correct, so that we are not just assuming things to be correct. Mathematicians still assume things are correct a lot, at least when it comes to the higher maths, so when someone proves/disproves a theorem, it can have major implications.
Second, they help others to understand why something is correct or not.
Lastly, I personally believe that they're important because they show that there is more of an understanding to whatever the proof is about, rather than just assuming that certain things are just correct, but we can't explain why. If we didn't have proofs, a lot of the higher maths, and even High School / Middle School maths would be incomplete, and in many cases not possible for us to know if any of the maths are actually correct.
