Paul wanted to bring his family to the Children’s Museum. There was an exhibit with carnival rides. The tickets for each ride were $1.35 per ticket. Paul purchased 30 tickets for the rides and spent a total of $46.85 at the museum. Paul spent his money only on ride tickets and admission. The price of the museum admission is the same for everyone. (a) Define your variables. (b) Write a linear equation that can be used to determine the cost for anyone who only pays for tickets and museum admission. Use y to represent the total cost and x to represent the number of ride tickets. (c) Explain your answer to Part 1b.
