ordered data: {4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 12, 18, 20} 

minimum = 4 
maximum = 20 
median = (10 + 11) / 2 = 10.5 
first quartile is median of: {4, 6, 8, 10} or 7 
third quartile is median of: {11, 12, 18, 20} or 15 

now perform the same steps on the second set of data values 
{60, 50, 130, 200, 180, 150, 100, 140}
