1. Brick Red is supposed to be 7 parts red to 2 parts light blue. If the machine

already mixed 28 quarts of red, how many quarts of light blue does it need?

2. Burnt Orange is supposed to be 2 parts red to 1 part yellow. If the machine

already mixed 24 quarts of red, how many quarts of yellow does it need?

3. Sunset Yellow is supposed to be 6 parts yellow to 1 part red. If the machine

already mixed 60 pints of yellow, how many pints of red does it need?

4. Sour Apple is supposed to be 4 parts yellow to 2 parts light blue. If the machine

already mixed 12 pints of light blue, how many pints of yellow does it need?

5. Ocean Blue is supposed to be 4 parts light blue to 3 parts yellow. If the machine

already mixed 12 quarts of yellow, how many quarts of light blue does it need?

6. Midnight Navy is supposed to be 6 parts blue to 3 parts red. If the machine

already mixed 18 blue, how many quarts of red does it need?

1- what do you think the product of a nonzero rational number and an irrational number is? is it rational or irrational? make use of variables, the closure property of integers, and possibly a proof by contradiction to prove your hypothesis.2- why do we have to specify that the rational number must be nonzero when we determine what the product of a nonzero rational number and an irrational number is? if the rational number were 0, would it give us the same result we found in the first question?
