Like terms are terms in an expression or equation are terms that have the same variable with the same
exponent.
In the expression 3x +4y +5x+7, the terms 3x and
5x are like terms. The 4y term is not "like" because it
has a different variable. The term 7 is not "like"
because it does not have an X.
Identify the like terms in 2y + 3x - 5y +2 +2x - 6
Rewrite the expression by combining
(adding/subtracting) like terms.
