Fairness and Friendships In this model, two friends are shopping for shoes. You'll create at least two scenarios for how they can pay for the
shoes, and explain which scenario is more 'fair'.
Jenny and Carly go shopping for shoes. Jenny chooses one pair for $110 and another for $100. Carly chooses a pair
that costs $160. When they go to pay, the assistant says that there is a sale on and they get 3 pairs of shoes for the
price of 2 pairs (the free one is the cheapest).
Give two options for how much Jenny and Carly should each pay. Explain which of these options is fairer. (This
problem is quoted from Sullivan et al, 2015, p. 90).
In your work below, you will show your two options in the Solve section, and you will discuss their fairness in the
Interpret section.

Formulate the indicated conclusion in nontechnical terms. be sure to address the original claim. the foundation chair for a hospital claims that the mean number of filled overnight beds is over 523, and she is therefore justified starting a funding campaign to add a wing to the hospital. assuming that a hypothesis test has been conducted and that the conclusion is failure to reject the null hypothesis, state the conclusion in nontechnical terms.
