Hello, me and my teacher are having a debate regarding the average percentage of change between 2 sets, 2 numbers in each set. The sets are trials for a science experiment, the numbers for each set are before and after. So set A would be A1 for before experiment and A2 for after. I calculated the percentage change for both sets individually and divided it by 2 to get my average, my teacher, however, averaged the start experiment digits (A1 + B1) and the post-experiment digits (A2+B2). He then plugged the average numbers into the percentage change formula, we got different answers, here is the raw math: My way:
A = (11.8 – 9.8) / 9.8 x100 = 20.4082% increase

B = (12.5 – 10.9) / 10.9 x 100 = 14.6789% increase

A+B = 35.0871

35.0871 / 2 = 17.54355

Teacher way:
(A1 + B1) / 2 = 10.35

(A2 + B2) / 2 = 12.15

(V2-V1) / V1 x 100 = (12.15 – 10.35) / 10.35 x 100 = 17.3913…%

The answer have a decimal difference any my question is regarding which one is more accurate for the experiment at hand.

-Thank you

Three students, javier, sam, and corrine, participated in a fundraiser where people donated a certain amount of money per lap that the student ran. each student also had some initial donations that were collected before the run. the equations that represent each student's total donation, y, based on the number of laps ran, x, is shown below. match each equation with the correct rate of change for that student.

Time (minutes) amount of water (gallons) practice 1. jin fills up a 510-gallon pool in the backyard for her children. she fills it with the garden hose at a rate of 17 gallons per minute. after it is filled, she lets it sit for 30 minutes in order to let the water temperature rise. the children then get in and have fun for an hour. the pool loses about 5 gallon of water each minute due to their splashing and playing. at the end of the hour, they tear the pool while getting out, which causes a leak the pool then begins to lose water at a rate of 2 gallons per minute. a. complete the table to show the amount of water in the pool after each minute. b. create a graph to model the problem situation. include when the pool will be empty. c. write a piecewise function that models this problem situation. explain your reasoning for each piece of the function. d. identify the x- and y-intercept. explain what they mean in terms of the problem situation, atamantha a cul 80 100 120 150 200 ning, inc
