Question
Consider the two scenarios below. In both cases, both rocks are in space far from other sources of
gravity. Only consider the force of gravity between the two rocks in each scenario.
Scenario 1
• A rock with a mass of 2 kg is 10 meters from another rock that has a mass of 6.
Scenario 2
• A rock with a mass of 2 kg is 4 meters from another rock that has a mass of 6.
How many times larger is the force of gravity in Scenario 2 than in Scenario 1? Give your answer to
