Difference between Central Highlands and Deccan Plateau are
Central HighlandsDeccan Plateau
They lie to the north of the Narmada riverThey lie to the south of the Narmada river
They are bounded by the Aravali mountains, Vindhya range, Malwa and Chotanagpur PlateauThey are bounded the Eastern ghats and the western ghats
The Chota Nagpur Plateau mark its eastwards extensionThe Mahadev, Kaimur Hills and Maikal range make its eastern part

Five characteristics of the Himalayas are:
They are young fold mountains formed in recent geological ages.
They have high peaks and deep valleys.
These mountain ranges run in a west-east direction from the Indus to the Brahmaputra.
The width of the mountains varies from 400 Km in Kashmir to 150 Km in Arunachal Pradesh.
The Himalayas can be divided into three ranges: the Himadri (northern most range), the Himachal (lie to the south of the Himadri) and the Siwaliks (outer range).
