When rain cancelled the smith family's trip to the beach, Becky, Eric, and the two other Smith children were disappointed-- but not for long. Their parents had hidden a rainy day surprise for each of them, labeled with the child's name, in a different spot around the house. The children spent the morning searching for their treasures (one was hidden in the dishwasher) and the afternoon enjoying them (one prize was a stuffed animal). From the following clues, can you determine the ages in full years of the four children, the treasure each found, and where it was hidden? 1)The oldest child, who is seven, and is not sharon, found the jigsaw puzzle before she found her own treasure.
2) The girl who received the paint set is younger than the brother who is twice the age of another child--this last child's present (not the paint set) was hidden under a bed.
3) Mike is two years younger than the child who's present was hidden behind the piano.
4) Neither the jigsaw puzzle nor the crossword magazine was the youngest childs surprise.
5) The treasure hidden in the clothes dryer was a boy's.
