Please Help! Suppose that the amount of algae in a pond doubles every 6 hours. If the pond initially contains 50 pounds of algae, how much algae will be in the pond after 18 hours?
A. 400
B. 10,800
C. 300
D. 600
I think it's A: 400
So we start out at 50 and double every 6 hours till 18 hours
1st 6th hour: 100
2nd 6th hours(12 hours): 200
3rd 6th hours(18 hours):400
So at 18 hours there would be 400 pounds of algae
