Most of us don't spend our time thinking about whether that value is nominal or interval. So let's practice. Please think of an example of a value that you have seen or heard recently, and then tell us if this is qualitative or quantitative, is it discrete or continuous, and is it nominal, ordinal, interval, or ratio level of measurement. Classmates, do you agree with this categorization? Why or why not? These can be tricky to sort out, so we may have some back-and-forth discussion on these.

Which equation represents a circle with a center at (–3, –5) and a radius of 6 units? (x – 3)2 + (y – 5)2 = 6 (x – 3)2 + (y – 5)2 = 36 (x + 3)2 + (y + 5)2 = 6 (x + 3)2 + (y + 5)2 = 36
