How would I solve this? I tried and I got a reallly crazy number... I think I messed up somewhere. The question is... Jack and Mark work together on a job, but not equal hours. Mark gets paid $11 per hour and Jack gets paid $10 per hour. Together they worked 58 hours and earn a total of $601. How many hours did each one work? I made these equations.
m+j=58
11m+10j
The first one I rearranged to m=58-j.
