Your family is going to buy a new air conditioner for the house. ClimateMakers sells theirs for $1800 and it costs $60 a month to operate. A more expensive
brand, Coolair Inc., sells for $2600 but costs only $50 a month to operate.
Let x = number of months since you purchased the unit.
f(x) = total number of dollars spent for the ClimateMakers unit.
g(x) = total number of dollars spent for the Coolair unit.
a. Write an equation for f(x) and g(x).
b. What are f(100) and g(100)? What does this tell you about the relative costs of the two units?
