What exactly does negative mean in a question, like negative 4 negative 8 etc thanks!

It’s just basically opposites of a positive number and they are any number that is to the left from zero. looking at it in a number line the negative numbers would go left but the positives would be going right. I hope this kind of helps, have a great day!
