How do you connect the ideas of congruency and rigid motion? In your own words please

Rigid motions are transformations that maintain congruency. This means that both the pre-image and image will be congruent. This is true because rigid motions do not change the measurements of the sides or angles. Other types of transformations, also called non-rigid motions, like dilations do not maintain congruency.
