Objective: Draw a city map using only a straight edge (or Microsoft Word if virtual) that meets
the conditions below.
Materials Required: blank paper, colored pencils, eraser, straight edge and/or Microsoft Word.
Directions: Assume no two buildings can occupy the same space. Make your
constructions/lines light so that they can be easily erased if necessary. Your buildings should
look like the building you're drawing. Not just a square/rectangle, Label all buildings and
streets appropriately. Virtual students may copy images off the internet and paste them in the
map. Draw a city with the following conditions:
1. Use a straight edge (Word) to draw and label a street across your paper.
2. Draw and label a transversal street that intersects the previous street.
3. Draw and label three additional streets that are parallel to the first street you drew.
4. Draw and label two perpendicular streets to the parallel streets.
5. Draw (copy and paste) a house and a school on a pair of consecutive interior angles.
6. Draw a bank and a post office on a pair of corresponding, angles.
7. Draw a grocery store and an electronic store on a pair of alternate Interior angles.
8. Draw a movie theater and a pet store on a pair of alternate exterior angles.
9. Draw a fountain or water tower halfway between the bank and the post office,
10. Draw a park halfway between the grocery store and the school.
11. Draw traffic lights on at least four intersections.
12. Draw a hospital exactly this length
