Have you ever wondered why the weather forecast for the
weekend changes from Monday to Friday?
Meteorologists use computer models to help make
forecasts, or predictions, about the chance of different
types of weather, such as rain or sun. The predictions are
based on data and that data can change on an hourly basis.
The closer to an actual day, the more data there will be.
This is why a five-day forecast is much more likely to be
accurate than a ten-day forecast. A forecast about the
weather in ten days is only right about half of the time!
