Ben and Kelly are conducting research to determine the amount of a plant food and water mix to give to a strawberry plant over the course of a week in order to produce the most strawberries each month. Each person grows ten plants and applies different daily amounts of their mixes to each plant. After a month of application, Ben and Kelly record the number of strawberries each plant produced. The results of their research are shown in the tables below. Ben's Results Mix A (in3) No. of Strawberries 5 2 10 4 15 5 20 6 25 8 30 9 35 13 40 11 45 16 50 17
Kelly's Results Mix B (in3) No. of Strawberries 5 1 10 5 15 2 20 7 25 8 30 6 35 5 40 10 45 7 50 11

Calculate the approximate correlation coefficient for each set of data using technology, and select the correct statement.

A. There is not enough information to make a conclusion on Ben's and Kelly's data.
B. Ben's and Kelly's data lie similarly close to each of their lines of best fit because Ben and Kelly's data have the same correlation coefficient.
C. Ben's data lies closer to his line of best fit compared to Kelly's data to her line of best fit because Ben's data has a higher correlation coefficient.
D. Kelly's data lies closer to her line of best fit compared to Ben's data to his line of best fit because Kelly's data has a higher correlation coefficient.
