I don’t understand how these are the steps for the proof. Thank you 1. BD is the midsegement of ACE

3 CB=BA, CD=DE
4 CB+BA=CA, CD+DE=CE
5 2CB = CA, 2CD=CE
6 CB/CA = CB/ 2CB = 1/2
7 CD/CE= CD/2CD = 1/2
8 triangle BCD is similar to triangle ACE
