so if he buys it for 0.67 and sells it for 1.501.50 - 0.67 = 0.83he makes a profit of 0.83 cents per orange

0.83x = 50
x = 50/0.83
x = 60.24he would have to sell 61 <==

check...
0.83(61) = 50.63
and u see, if he sold 600.83(60) = 49.80...he wouldn't quite make the profit of 50.
