A farmer has a maximum of 80m² of
farmland to cultivate for soya beans and maize. Altogether, he does not want to
spend more than ₦870 in cultivating the entire farmland. He spends ₦9 per m² for soya
beans and ₦2 per m² for maize. Assuming
that he cultivates xm² of the land for soya
beans and ym² of the land for maize
(a) write down all the inequalities
connecting x and y:
(b) show by shading the region which
satisfies the set of inequalities in (a);
(e) if the farmer makes a profit of N 25
per m² for soya beans and
N30 per m² for maize, find the values
of x and y that maximize the profit
