Tony and Ericka are given a cylinder. The cylinders are the same. They use their rulers to take
measurements and use that information to calculate the volume of the cylinder, using 3.14 for pi. Tony says
the height of the cylinder is 7 and the diameter of the cylinder is 3 and he calculates the volume by
multiplying 3.14 by 7 by 1.5 by 1.5 to get 49.455
Ericka says the height of the cylinder is 17.78 and the diameter of the cylinder is 7.62 and she calculates
the volume by multiplying 3.14 by 17.78 by 3.81 by 3.81 to get 810.42225012
Tony and Ericka have different answers for the same cylinder and they are both correct! Please tell me -
how is that possible. (Hint: look at the label one a water bottle)
