Lindsey bought a new candle and the base of the candle covers an area of 19.625 square inches. She plans on putting the candle into a bowl with a radius of 2 inches but isn’t sure that is will fit. She calculates the radius of the candle to be 1.5 inches and thinks it will fit, but her friend Amy says the radius is 2.5 inches and that it is too large for the bowl. Who is correct and will the candle fit in the bowl?
