Three fractions equivalent to 4/7?

If you multiply a number by 1, you get the same number, right? 2/2 is equal to 1, right? so, 4/7 * 2/2 = 4/7, because you're just multiplying 4/7 by 1.

by multiplying by a fraction that was equivalent to 1, you made an equivalent fraction. in other words, you multiplied the top and the bottom by the same number.
so:
4/7
= 8/14
= 12/21
= 16/28
et cetera

All you do to get equivalent fractions is that you either multiply the denominator and numerator by the same number or you divide the denominator and numerator by the same number. so in this case, since 4 and 7 aren't factors of each other it'd be easier to multiply. for THREE equivalent fraction you multiply 3 different numbers by 4 and 7. e.g. multiply with the number 2: 4(2)/7(2)
                                                                                          8/14
                                                   multiply with the number 3: 4(3)/7(3)
                                                                                           12/21
                                                   multiply with the number 4: 4(4)/7(4)
                                                                                           16/28
therefore 8/14, 12/21, and 16/28 can be three equivalent fractions of 4/7
