Components 1 and 2 are connected in parallel and therefore the subsystem they form works if either component 1 or 2 works. The subsystem containing components 3 and 4 only works if both component 3 and 4 work. The whole system works if at least one subsystem works. If components all work independently of one another; P(component i works) = .9 for i = 1, 2; and P(component i works) = .8 for i = 3, 4, calculate P(system works). Please set up the probability formulas as part of your work!
