2x+5y=9
3x-5y=11

The systems of equations would be (4,1/5)

These equations can be solved much easier because they are already set up for you!

First you want to add both of the equations up and get it to where only one x or y value is available. So as you can see -5y and 5y cancel out and the leaves you with the added up equation as 5x=20. Next you want to isolate x by dividing by 5 on both sides to get x=4

Now that you have what x equals you want to plug it in one equation (or both if you really want to check if the answer is correct). Let’s use the first equation and plug 4 for x. 2(4)+5y=9 next simplify and you’ll get 8+5y=9 and now subtract 8 on both sides to get 5y by itself so you get 5y=1. Isolate y by dividing 5 on both sides and you’ll get y=1/5. Your systems of equations would equal (4,1/5).
