So, let's create one inequality

Let x be the bag of cookies

1.50x + 375$ ⩾ 1254$

X could be any number from, and it means the number of cookies that were sold, thus it is multiplied by its price to know how much every bag sold is raising for the trip.

375 is added to the cookies because it is an amount of money that we have already

We need AT LEAST 1254$ so we could have our funds raised equal to that amount or even greater.

b ) Substract the amount required for the trip by the amount of money that was given for free by the school to Mr. Marvi's class

1254 - 375$ = 879$

Now we have to attain the remaining amount by selling cookies right? :)

So what is the least (smaller) number of cookies that has to be sold to attain 879$

well simply divide it by the price of each cookie:

879$/1.50$ = 586 bags of cookies

So the class has to sell 586 bags of cookies to go in the trip, yay!

Or we could use inequality equation to find it

1.50x + 375 ⩾ 1254$

1.50x ⩾ 879$

x ⩾ 586

you need a common difference between consecutive terms to be constant, like 1,2,3,4 or 2,4,6,8, or 1,3,6,9
