Rob cuts grass as a job. a neighbour asked rob to give a quote for his backyard. rob noticed that the yard was a rectangle shape. he used the formula = Ă— to calculate the area (in square metres). he measured the length along the fence (l=16.2 m) and the length next to the house (b= 6.7m). show working
a) using a calculator and the formula, find the area of the yard.

b) round your answer to the nearest whole number.

c) rob charges $0.46 per square metre. what is the quote for the neighbour’s backyard?
d) if rob didn’t have a calculator and simply rounded off the lengths to the nearest whole number, what would this area be? what would be the implications of using this approximation for the quote?
