Math 2 discussion three:
1. consider the following list of odds by various causes of death.
• are there any that surprised you? which ones did you think would be less likely to happen than the odds
indicated, and which ones would you think would be more likely? [and, for a timely comparison, the odds of
winning the mega millions lottery jackpot is 1 in 302,575,350.] (7 points)
• use google or other search engines and research these or other similar odds/probabilities on causes of death.
do they generally agree with this table? why or why not? did you find something that can be added to this
table? (10 points)
(note: you must post before seeing other posts.)
2. respond to at least one of your classmates' posts substantively and share your thoughts about their posts - do
you share the same perceptions - i. e. are you surprised at what they are surprised at? (generic responses using
any combination of phrases or sentences that i feel you could use to respond to any post will result in zero
points.) (8 points)

You have learned about the six trigonometric functions, their definitions, how to use them, and how to represent them graphically. the sine, cosine, and tangent trigonometric functions can be paired with their reciprocal functions, cosecant, secant, and cotangent, respectively. think about how each function is related to its reciprocal function. how are the graphs of the reciprocal functions related to their corresponding original functions? what happens to the graphs of the reciprocal functions as x approaches the zeros of the original functions? describe how you would teach friends with different learning styles (visual-spatial, aural-auditory, verbal-linguistic, physical-bodily-kinesthetic, logical-mathematical, social-interpersonal, and solitary-intrapersonal) how to graph the reciprocal functions
