The american roulette wheel features a total of 38 stops. there are stops numbered 1 to 36 representing the numbers on the roulette table (half are red and half are black) and stops 0 and 00 (both are green). the ball is spun on the outside of the wheel and when it stops it lands in one of the stops which indicates the winning number for that spin. you notice that in the last 15 spins, a black number has not come up! you figure that a black number is due! so you place all your money on a black number coming up on the next spin.
what is the probability that you will win?
what is the probability that you will lose?
what is the probability that the next five spins will be black? (do not count any previous spins)?
