(i'm pretty sure the answer is 10 you don't have to me with this.)b. if the length of your bedroom is "five times x", what is the width? (this is what is confusing me, .)c. if the length of your bedroom is the gcf in part (a), what is the width?

Don't forget that you can also pull out an x besides the 10. The expression should look like this.

A(x) = 10x(x - 5)

The GCF is 10x

The area of the Bedroom = 10x ( x - 5)

If the length = 5x then the width is

A/L = 10x (x - 5)/(5x)= 2*(x - 5)

Now they are changing the Length to the GCF. We determined in A that the GCF = 10x

This time A/L = 10x(x - 5)/10x = (x - 5)

So the width = x - 5

i think there was a typo. you wrote pat brings 3 quarts of ice-cream to the party. each serving of ice-cream is 1 6 quart. how many total servings of ice-cream does pat bring to the party? i think the bold is supposed to be 1/6. so 1 quart of ice cream = 6 servings. 6 * 3 = 18.
