If i gave you 2x+4=8 what would be the first step ? second step?

You would subtract from 4 to cancel the 4 out then take 4 away from 8 so the problem would then be 2x=4 the answer would then be 2 because then you divide 2 by 4

Subtract 4 from itself on the left side, then subtract 4 on the right side, and 8-4 = 4. this is to get the x by itself.

Then you divide 2 from the left side from 4 on the right side, and 4/2 is 2

so the answers 2
