We know that we can break this big polygon into smaller ones ( 3 rectangles ) for ease and then add all areas together in order to find the area of total polygon
We also know the area formula of a rectangle
Area = length × width 


Length = 12 m
Width = 4 m
Area = 12 × 4
         = 48 m²


Length = 8 m
Width = The length of the other rectangle is 12 m, the second rectangle cuts in between and let us label the unknown as x
12 = 6 + 4 + x
12 = 10 + x 
2 = x
Area = 8 × 2
         = 16 m²


Length = 13 m
Width = 7 m
Area = 13 × 7
         = 91 m²

Add all areas together now
Total Area = 48 m² + 16 m² + 91 m²
                  = 155 m²
