Racial violence has endured in the United States even though slavery ended over one hundred fifty years ago. In 1921, the Tulsa Race Massacre led to the killing of an estimated three hundred people and destroyed over one thousand homes. What if your own relatives lost their life savings and their home due to racial violence after slavery had ended. . . . If that happened, would you believe you should receive some compensation from the government for the lost wealth that you were not able to inherit? Why or why not?
