A recent documentary examined a suburb in the Midwest where the racial balance had gradually changed from mostly white to mostly African American. Even though statistics proved that the school scores had not dropped and that the quality of government services remained the same, the perception was that property values declined. What do you think was responsible for this perception? What can be done to avoid this type of thinking?
