The police report:
On Sunday at 4 in the afternoon we received a call from the Pérez family. Mr. Pérez explained to us that they had left the house at 3:30 in the afternoon to go to the store. They returned at 4 in the afternoon. When he called the police, Mr. Pérez reported that someone had broken into his home and stole his new television from the wall. A police officer came to the house at 4:20 to check on the situation. He found three suspects on the corner of the neighborhood. Here are their stories.
Juan (a 19-year-old young man):
It is true that I am one of the neighbors of the Pérez family. They are a good family. Today at 9 in the morning I went to church with my grandmother. I came back at 11 and spent the rest of the day watching videos. No one was here with me.
David (a 23-year-old man):
I live in front of the Pérez family. They are very nice to me. Sometimes Mrs. Pérez invites me to have dinner with them. It is very sad that this happened to you.
