B. Winston Churchill

Great Britain had a long history of controlling strategic areas of interest throughout the world as a colonial and imperial power, and Winston Churchill had been a leader within the British Empire.  Before he became Prime Minister he had served in positions such as First Lord of the Admiralty (supervising the navy) and Secretary of State for the Colonies.  His vision of the world was one in which the more powerful nations guided governance of the world in such a way as to promote the best world order for all nations.
