First point: Marx and Engels proposed a communist world order in which there would not be private property, but all would be shared communally. The Bible safeguards the holding of private property and commands persons not to steal from one another or want to take what is his (Exodus 20:15, 17), as well as asserting that anyone who wants to eat and be provided for needs to be willing to do his own work (2 Thessalonians 3:10). We might note, though, that in a Marxist system, all are expected to work, each according to his ability. And Marx and Engels would say coveting and stealing would cease to exist if there were no private property. But the fact remains that the biblical perspective assumes private ownership is a reality.

Second point: The perfect society envisioned by Marx and Engels--a society where all live in peace with one another and wars cease--would be wonderful if human nature were aligned in that direction. But human nature has become corrupted by sin (Romans 1:29-31, 5:11-13). So the Marxist project is always working against inherent attitudes and tendencies in human beings that make it impossible to realize fully in any real-world location. Communist governments have had to rule by force because not everyone comes on board willingly to the ideas. And the Bible foretells that there will always be times of war (Ecclesiastes 3:1,8), that wars and rumors of war will characterize human history till the end of time (Matthew 24:6).

The vision of Marx and Engels was a hopeful one, but overly optimistic about what human beings of their own desire could achieve. Early Christians in Jerusalem shared in common with one another, motivated by love in Christ. But even that pattern of life didn't last, as dishonesty and strife began to plague even the church because hearts aren't always fully aligned with Christ's character or ideals.

This is because, in Romans 13:1-7, it says that the authorities that exist already were put there by God: " The authorities that exist have been established by God" (Romans 13:1). Also, it says that whoever rebels against the authorities will bring judgment upon themselves: "Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves" (Romans 13:2). Marx and Engel wanted to overthrow the government and the authorities. This is against the Bible, which says to not do that. They wanted to replace the government that existed with another government. But God knows what's best for people, and he wouldn't want people to change his plans, because all people would do is just ruin everything for themselves.

Secondly, the following statement is not realistic at all: "People would voluntarily work for the common good, and as more nations saw the 'perfect society,' they would all convert to communism. The reason I say that this statement is not realistic is because, in Romans 5:11-13, it says, "Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned—To be sure, sin was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not charged against anyone’s account where there is no law." This means that no matter how people try to make a perfect society, they will not be able to do it because sin entered man, and in this way "death came to all people, because all sinned", even though it would be wonderful if that could happen! Also, this passage from the Bible supports the statement that people are sinful: "They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy" (Romans 1:29-31). Ecclesiastes 3:8 says," a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace. " This shows that wars would never cease on this sinful earth, and there will always be people hating other people.
