John f. kennedy had a combination of ideal types of leadership. although he was the president of the united states, he also inspired people to get involved with their country's programs simply because they were americans. president kennedy is an example of combining authority

Legal (rational) authority and charismatic (personal) authority.

Holding the office of President of the United States gives the office-holder specific legal authority as leader of the country, established by laws that have been put in place through rational processes of government.  This is what sociologist Max Weber termed "rational-legal authority."

Charismatic authority (also described by Weber) points to the personal power of an individual to gain the support and cooperation of others, to get people to follow his leadership.

Weber also described a third type of authority, "traditional authority," where a person's style and personality aligns with traditions in society and thus is seen as someone who will maintain traditional values or policies.

1920 census

the census was scheduled for january the 1st, as the government believed that more farmers would be in their homes by that time instead of april. the census did not ask about unemployment, the number of children, and how long was a couple married were not taken into consideration. individuals were considered as residents of the places they normally slept, not the places were they worked at or visited.

2010 census

the census was scheduled for april 1st, 2010. it was the shortest census in history: it only contained 10 questions related to name, age, gender, ethnicity, relationship, and whether the citizen owned a home or rented one. the government launched a website in order to provide the citizens with information regarding the census. there were also "teach census weeks" in schools nationwide.
