New inventions such as the telescope and microscope change the way people saw the world in that they make it possible to see things that are ver far away (as is the case with the telescope), and things that are very small (as is the case with the microscope), since these are unseeable with the human eye alone. 

New inventions such as the microscope and the telescope both had an important role in the way people viewed the world at that point. Both inventions enabled people to either see very far away objects or to see very miniature objects, much smaller than the naked eye could see.
