How is public opinion sometimes affected by the views expressed by opinion leaders

Opinion leaders have a very important role in the process of public opinion formation. They make many interpretations that are shared by a large part of the population ant they popularize them in such a way that they begin to appear as topics on the public agenda since they mostly have to do with key issues of national interest.  

The statements of opinion leaders help people form opinions even about events or realities that are beyond their understanding or interest and that do not even directly affect them.

The frameworks provided by opinion leaders through persuasive messages influence us to the point that we have sensations and create mental images about situations. We will connect this information at the moment we justify the position we have on a subject.

The less informed we are, the more susceptible we are to be influenced by opinion leaders. When we have diverse information and have the ability to analyze them, or when we have clear ideological positions, our opinion is less likely to change because of what an opinion leader says.
