They were of English, Irish, Germanic & Scandinavian descent. The second wave came from 1865 to 1890. These immigrants also were from northwestern Europe. The third wave lasted from 1890 to 1914. These immigrants were largely from southern and eastern Europe and were of Austro-Hungarian, Greek, Italian, Lithuanian, Romanian, Turkish, Russian, and Jewish descent.
